Profile

Born in Tokyo and raised in New York,
he now serves as the head priest of Wadaji Temple.
He has published eight books
on Eastern medicine—especially Tao Shiatsu.
These works have been translated
into six or seven languages
and are widely read around the world.

As a musician,
he has released seven albums on major labels,
with his music broadcast on radio and television
both in Japan and abroad.

He also leads the “Flame of Hope” band Aminadabu,
performing at festivals and venues worldwide,
including the renowned Glastonbury Festival in the UK.

In addition, he holds a black belt in Aikido
and has even created a game called “Ninja Hope,”
showcasing his activities for innovation across multiple fields.



He is also deeply committed to supporting
impoverished and conflict-affected regions,
and founded the NPO Earth Caravan
to carry out humanitarian activities.

He has traveled to fifteen countries,
offering Tao Shiatsu and Buddhist workshops,
giving lectures, performing music,
and passionately conducting
various humanitarian activities—
bringing healing and hope
to countless people around the world.

Since 2015, he has carried the embers of the Hiroshima atomic bombing on a global pilgrimage.
This journey evolved into the “Flame of Hope” project—an initiative that gathers the prayers of humanity into a single, living flame.
By calling upon people from all walks of life, from world leaders to ordinary citizens, the flame has grown into a peace movement that transcends religions, cultures, and national borders.
In addition, a social platform called “MyHope,” designed to deliver rice to children around the world, is also scheduled to be launched.
Through prayers rooted in altruism, he continues his activities with the vision of creating a new culture—one in which humanity is united.
